The long way around — in Linda’s own words
It started with a simple belief
Long before I became a REALTOR®, I believed that the most meaningful things in life are built with hard work, curiosity, and caring for others.
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I was happiest outdoors — fishing, swimming, hiking the hills, working alongside adults, and discovering what was around the next bend. I loved helping wherever I could, whether it meant mowing a lawn, gardening, or lending a hand on the dairy farm where my parents worked.
When I married my husband, Kevin, I discovered something even more important. A home isn’t defined by four walls. It’s something you create together. It’s where family gathers, memories are made, traditions begin, and life’s greatest moments unfold.
That simple truth has shaped both my life and my career.
Following my sense of adventure
My love for adventure eventually led me to one of Seattle’s most unique communities — the floating homes of Lake Union. Living on the water wasn’t simply different. It was transformative.
It introduced me to an extraordinary community and a lifestyle unlike anywhere else. Before long, friends, neighbors, and newcomers were asking questions about floating homes, and I found myself helping people understand not only the homes themselves, but the unique way of life they offered.
What began as personal passion slowly became professional purpose.
Building more than a community
Living on Lake Union inspired me to do more than simply enjoy a remarkable lifestyle. As a co-founder of the Lake Union Liveaboard Association, I worked alongside neighbors to strengthen our community, advocate for floating homeowners, and help preserve a way of life that has become part of Seattle’s rich history.
That experience reinforced something I’ve always believed. Communities don’t become extraordinary by accident. They become extraordinary because people care enough to make them better.
Becoming an advocate
My passion for floating homes soon expanded beyond the neighborhood itself. Working alongside industry professionals, lenders, and the Northwest Multiple Listing Service, I helped bring greater recognition and accessibility to floating homes throughout the region. Those efforts helped create more opportunities for buyers and sellers while preserving one of Seattle’s most distinctive housing communities.
Advocating for homeowners has always felt natural to me. Whether helping someone navigate a unique purchase, understand today’s market, or even challenge an unfair property tax assessment, I’ve always believed that honest information empowers people to make confident decisions.
A different kind of real estate
Years of experience taught me something that changed the way I approach my profession. People don’t need another salesperson. They need someone they can trust.
That’s the philosophy behind everything I do. My role isn’t to pressure anyone into making a decision. It’s to educate, provide honest representation, explain the options, and help people make the decision that’s right for them and their families.
Sometimes that means buying. Sometimes it means selling. Sometimes it means waiting. And sometimes it means deciding not to move at all. If I’ve done my job well, my clients feel informed, confident, and supported — regardless of the outcome.
The commission has never been my motivation. The relationship always has.
The story is still being written
Today, I still feel incredibly fortunate to call the Pacific Northwest home. You’ll often find me walking our beautiful beaches, hiking forest trails, riding my bike, enjoying live theater, cheering on our local sports teams, or simply spending time with the people I love. Those experiences remind me every day why this region is such a wonderful place to live — and why helping others build their lives here is so rewarding.
Over the years, I’ve been honored to help first-time buyers, growing families, retirees, waterfront enthusiasts, investors, and lifelong homeowners through some of the biggest decisions of their lives. Many of those clients have become lifelong friends. Some have trusted me with multiple moves over many years. Others simply call when they need honest advice.
To me, that’s the greatest compliment I could ever receive.
Long after the paperwork is signed and the keys have changed hands, what matters most is knowing someone trusted me enough to be part of their story.
Advocacy & industry work
Beyond co-founding LULA, Linda’s efforts were crucial in formulating legislation to safeguard Seattle’s floating properties, and in incorporating those properties into the Northwest Multiple Listing Service — the reason a houseboat can be listed, comped, and financed like other real estate at all. Media & recognition
Special Agents Realty’s work has been featured on HGTV, House Hunters, DIY Network, and KIRO.
Two brands, one philosophy
Special Agents Realty is the brokerage — buyer and seller representation, client advocacy, education and guidance across Puget Sound. Lake Union Living is its educational companion: a resource devoted to Seattle floating homes and houseboats, built on accurate information, community and historical knowledge, and specialized guidance. They share one philosophy — informed clients make better decisions.
How we measure success
Our responsibility is not to sell houses. It’s to help people make wise real estate decisions.
We don’t measure success by the number of transactions completed. We measure it by whether our clients make confident, informed decisions that serve their long-term interests. That standard holds whether the honest answer earns us a commission or costs us one.
Educate first. Advise honestly. Advocate always.
Our values
